Having never seen these before I asked the vendor what they were. Lotus he answered. Momentarily puzzled I asked if these would grow into flowers. With a pitying gaze he explained that these yield badaam like nuts from within which are cooling in their properties and fun to eat. Oh. Every moment in Shahjahanabad is a learning experience.

I see these being sold sometimes near the Okhla Barrage bridge. They always remind me of showerheads!
